My fiancé and I are moving from the Bay Area to Washington by September of this year. Since we are quite done with the CA city lifestyle, we were hoping for some tips, pointers, and personal experiences.
What we don't care for:
Smog, dirty cities, conservative mindsets, hate of any kind, social media trends, materialistic personalities, emergency sirens going off every night, disrespectful neighbors, crammed houses, mass produced unhealthy food, everyone and their mom on man made drugs, overload of clustered pop dance clubs, not seeing any stars at night, hot humid mosquito filled weather, nor cal/so cal gang nonsense...
What we are interested in:
GREEN. Trees everywhere. Wildlife! Rivers, lakes, ocean, beaches, mountains, hiking trails, dog parks, shopping centers, co ops, farmers markets, metaphysical crystal stores, bead stores, book stores, library, jr college/state college, yoga, mma/boxing, art scenes, music venues, local eateries and bars, good 'ol coffee shops, Marijuana (hey, we're from Cali...that will never leave lol) fishing areas, museums, movies, camp sites, near points of interests, cabin/wilderness lifestyle, gardening, archery/hunting, tattoo shops, community volunteering
We're both artists (he plays professional metal music and I draw)
Along with our dogs Bear the Pit Bull and Wolf the German Shepherd, we are curious if WA has any 'land/acreage' areas. I've been training both my boys from day one and I would love to find some land to work them on.
How is the weather?
Whats the social life like per demographic?
What are the employment opportunities?
What is the best dog friendly nature points of interests?
We practice Shamanism, where can we find some love in that area?
Art scenes? Tattoo Shops? Music venues? College life?
Any schools you would recommend?
Our budget for rent is $1,000, is that doable?
What about the laws out there?
Dispensaries and marijuana? Do they have them like CA?
Vegetarian/raw lifestyle areas? Thanks!!!
Answer
The Olympia area sounds like you. Go there and poke around. If you want land, there is plenty of rural around there, to the south and west.
Marijuana has been decriminalized. Dispensaries will be open to all by the end of this year.
Almost no sun in the winter, but summer is spectacular. The forest is so dense you can't walk in much of it. Evergreen State Univ in Olympia has a very liberal reputation. So many questions!
I have twenty acres of forest for sale, remote but 20 miles from the ocean. Beautiful vista of just trees.
What are you waiting for?

MrTrololol
Looking to go camping with family in the upcoming school-holidays, but we can't find any good camping spots to go to which arent down south, where it is freezing.
We don't care how far it is we live in Victoria Park and we are willing to drive as far as Exmouth.
Also we dont want beach camping sites.
