best camping places in east texas image
Roatha C
I live in Arlington, TX and I'm looking to take a day trip tomorrow. I like to go to Lake Arlington and Benbrook, etc. but I'd like to go somewhere that's a little more primitive. I'd like a place with some good hiking trails etc within about an hour of Arlington, TX. Any ideas?
I'm looking for somewhere a little closer. 1 to 2 hours away is ideal. Has anyone been to Cedar Ridge Preserve?

Lake Georgetown, Good Water Trail - Georgetown Texas Hikes
The rugged Good Water Trail is named for the Tonkawa people, or Tickanwatic, who called this land near the North Fork of the San Gabriel River the âland of good water.â The trail winds through dense juniper stands, hardwood bottomlands, and prairie grasslands, often along the limestone cliffs that border Lake Georgetown, which was constructed by the Corps of Engineers for flood control. The lake also serves as the water supply for Georgetown and Round Rock.

Can anyone tell me where the lowest crime safest neighborhood is in or around Fort Worth Texas?
AK
Arlington seems to be going down hill with more and more crime.
Answer
I can't tell you exact crime statistics for the different areas but I have lived in fort worth for over 27 years so I can tell you where the nicer neighborhoods are. Stay away from anything in East side, Southeast side Northeast side, and North side. The Hulen Mall area is still one of the safest places to live (If you are a renter, say away from Cypress Springs Apartments, they seem to have a lot of problems) the Bryant Irving area is pretty nice but expensive, some parts of west side (Camp Bowie area) are good and the Ridglea area is also pretty good. If you are looking to buy a house, I live in a little sub city (it is an actual city surrounded by Fort Worth, it is not a subdivision of Fort Worth )called Edgecliff Village which is located a few miles from where 20 &35 meet. Crowley Rd and Alta Mesa Blvd is the closest intersection to Edgecliff Village We don't have very much in the way of crime and whenever there is a crime here it is usually not a violent crime. Another plus is that unlike other places our property values actually go up or stay the same. That is really good news considering the morgage chrisis that this country is having. I bought my home at the end of 2006 and my house is already worth $20k more than what I paid for it. If you have any questions e-mail me.
