I am looking for a canyon/mountain experience but bathrooms would be nice. Tent camping not roughing it or anything. Also, I don't want to be eaten by wolves or bears. Thanks.
I think I would like to camp at a campground but one in the mountains or canyon. Not so sure about camping in a totally primative area and get eaten by wolves and bears. Thanks.

KOA rocks, you can get a book with every site in the country and they're all over the place, I used the crap out of them through my 20's travelled all over the states. Good luck!

What are some cool places to see near salt lake city?

I will have 2 days to explore the area around Salt Lake City and was wondering if there are any cool national parks/camping areas near by? Zion and Bryce Canyon are a little far away so I was wondering if there was anything closer?

I loved Golden Spike National Historic Site in Promontory, Utah. It's the site where the two pieces of the transcontinental railroad came together. They have a little museum, replicas of two steam engines, and you can hike trails along the old railroad cuts. It's pretty cool. - - - Read Stephen Ambrose's book "Nothing Like It In the World" before you go and you'll appreciate the story behind the place even more.
