Grout Pond Vermont Camping?
Jim M
Hi, I was reading about this place Grout Pond in Vermont, and it looks like a great place to camp. Has anyone ever been there? If my friends and I were going to try to walk on there on Friday morning, what time would we have to leave?
Answer
I used to live in Manchester, VT and went to Grout Pond many times. The better sites are the ones further back along the side of the pond further from the parking area, but there are no bad campsites at all. Of course I haven't been there in two years either, so I'm a bit dated with my info.
I don't know what you mean by "walk on" either. The sites are first-come, first-serve. For specific info about what time you may start camping or what time you have to leave contact the USFS Ranger Station in Manchester Center.
