Camping Activities for a teen by herself?
Sasha
Hi :) So I'ma fourtteen year old girl and in a few days, my family and I are going on a camping trip (in a tent, not a caravan/camper van) and I'm really looking forward to it. But I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some fun things that I could do as I'm an only child and I don't have any friends coming with me (besides lieks unbathing or reading). The camp site is right near the beach, my parents are the sort of people who will spend all there time lying around reading, but I want to do something and there are no nearby towns or anything to explore. There are like bush tracks but I'm a little bit scared to go on one of those by myself in case of snakes etc. So any ideas welcome! Please and Thank-you! xx

While camping one of the best ways to spend time is making yourself more comfortable. Firewood, maybe a clothes line to hang things on. How about this for a lady, make a little rack to put your socks on by the fire. Then when you put them on nice toasty feets. How about gathering some nuts and goodies for the animals. They come around camp and are used to campers feeding them. It is fun to see who comes to visit.
Take a camera if you enjoy having nice pictures to show. And above all go do allot of exploring. You can even go sit quietly in the forest and watch and listen to the animals going about their day. If you get good at it I like to follow a deer around through their day. Early mornings are the best time. Some amazing things go on everyday in the forest. One just needs to go out and watch. A den of fox kits are pretty cool to watch. They play like kittens. One guy will hide and ambush another as they have fun in their day. It can be just pretty cool out in the forest if you sit quietly and watch and listen.
There are so many cool things that happen everyday that most people have no idea how amazing it is right outside your door. Enjoy, hope you love it.
Edit : I saw your worried about snakes and such, nothing to be concerned about. Just look carefully as you move. Very simple with animals you can always make a deal with them. You can look but don't touch. For little critters use a stick. The deal you have to make with any animal is that you always allow them a way to leave. Even the ones you worry about if they can just leave you are fine and they are fine. When they get fed up with you they just want to leave. It is all about survival. We all want to survive. Right ?
