Camping spot location help in Northern California??

Brownies..

In the first or second week of April my Sorority Sisters and I are going on a camping retreat and I need to find a location.
It has to be in the middle some where from CHICO, CA, FRESNO, CA and SAN JOSE, CA, so it's equal traveling distance for everyone. Cabin are a plus! however we are totally cool with bring our own tents. and it has to have a body of water..LOL.. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Answer

Northern California Camping: Collins Lake or Union Valley Reservoir?

Taino John

We are trying to have a family get together in July, where we can camp and ride our ATVs. We were looking for a place where everyone could drive to and meet up, that was about an equal distance for the majority of us. Family will be traveling from Oregon, Arizona, Nevada, and California. These two areas appear to be the best locations for our goals. The musts are:

Must be able to ride ATVs in an exciting environment, which suits all skill levels

Must have showers and potable water

Must accept Tents, tent trailers, and RVs

Preferably able to accommodate 20-30 people.

Should offer a variety of activities- biking, swimming, boating, kayaking, etc.

Can anyone tell me about these two places? The good, bad, and ugly? The golden answer would be one that provides a comparison of both places and provides a suggestion.

All answers are highly appreciated!
@ der freak-can you elaborate a little more? The family is making a push for Union Valley. What is not good about it? Thank you!

Answer
I recommend you to camp in the Collins Lake Reservoir.
It has showers and potable water and offers a variety of activities.
The Union Valley Reservoir is not very good.
