I am looking for a secret or non commercial camping place on the east coast. I would love to pitch a tent on the beach or on a rock ledge. I really just want to find somewhere beautiful to go and stay. I'm not a big fan of camp sites where you're back to back with other people and have to abide by rules. I want an adventurous place to stay. Any ideas?
Or if there a cheap but safe and clean places to stay in either orlando, jersey, maine...I want ideas of AMAZING PLACES!! Thank you!
Answer
what about cape may point NJ. It isn't legal to camp there but they have a big wooded park and people camp there all the time. It also has a nude beach, higbee beach so you would have to deal with that unless you like that.

Answer
south fork santa ana river campground (usfs)
Seven oaks camp ground (private)
O'Neil park (county)
Irvine lake (private)
West/east/north fork campgrounds san Gabriel river (public and private)
I have camped at all these spots the water is most consistent on the San Gabriel river which has the best fishing and gold panning, second is the Santa ana river. Parks in the OC are spring time only creeks and dry up to a trickle by july.
Some spots along the coast I have also been to have camp grounds on or near the creek.
