my boyfriend and i want to go Tent camping for a weekend soon. im trying to search online for campsites in NH but its very hard to tell what is good & what may not be.
we're looking for a place that is for the most part "real" camping, like lots of nature but with tiolets and possibly an electrical hookup. swimming, canoe rentals would be awesome. but as private as possible, and of course an ok price.
we REEEEALLY DONT want a rec hall, playground, pavement, ect. not really looking for a family campground.
i read alot of reviews about campsites being really strict like not letting you bring alcohol even if youre of age, & checking up on what youre doing alot...i hate the idea of that, id really like to have as much of my privacy as i can.
does anyone know of any good places like that???

Living ina tent or makeshift shack?
Q. Is it legal to live in a makeshift tent and make fires to cook food and for heat, and keep a gun on you for protection against animals? I have no money so I can't move anywhere, I have been out of work for years, and can't get any shelter or help. I get $400 a month so that can buy food and water and the things I can use to live outside. I'm tired of how I always have to stay with the most annoying family members and because I'm with them I don't get too much help. Living ina state with 12%-15% unemployment (literally. I live in a state where healthcare is the main industry. only the doctors, nurses, lawyers, politicians, policemen, firemen, managers, and soldiers can have jobs. No one else can find employment so I'll have to go down south where all the jobs are. The jobs in my state are mostly public, and there are almost no private employers in my state, unless you're a medical professional or the managerial type with long employment history)
So would it be legal to live outside, carry a gun for animal protection, and make fires for heat and cooking? I can bring a cheap metal cooker for wood to contain the fire. The only problem is finding a safe place to put it.
if i can get down south i'll cheap affordable apartment room, easily locate employment because they have a lot of employment opportunity (and lower unemployment ratings which make jobs easier). The South actually has jobs unlike Rhode Island! Look up Rhode Island and see just how much corruption, lack of jobs there are! The businesses usually leave RI. Also, most young people like myself leave as fast as they can! Children and the number of young adults has been decreasing! Rhode Island would have lost population according to the US 2010 Census except all the Hispanics were moving to Rhode Island bringing up the population. Horrible state and I don't know why anyone looking for opportunity would move here. I want to move but lack of money....

Living in a tent, making fires for cooking and food is very possible. The issue at hand is WHERE you do it and for how LONG. You need to find a national forest but unfortunately there are none in Rhode Island, maybe head west to New Hampshire or elsewhere? Rhode Island is even very short on state parks that would fit the bill. I mentioned National Parks as the last time I was familiar you can primitive camp in one spot sometimes for a few weeks at a time. When that time expires you just move to another site and the clock starts over again.
As for carrying a gun to protect you from wildlife; you don't need one. If you've spent any length of time in the backcountry of the Eastern USA you'll know that it just isn't necessary so long as you take precautions like hanging your food at night.
Good luck.
