This time of year I would say "main lake points" or off shore humps. Sense you will be shore fishing tho, go with the main lake points, LATE evening or even after dark you could try secondary points in a cove.
Depends a lot on what part of the country you will be in.
Here in South Central Ky the lake water is already in the high 80's by afternoon. The warmer the water the deeper the bass will go, during the daylight time.
If you fish at night get you a black/blue BIG single Colorado blade spinner bait. I would suggest a 1/2 oz. at lest, again depending on the water depth. Throw it out as far as you can and reel it back just fast enough to feel the blade thumping.
Also you can try a Texas rigged 10" Berkley black blue flake worm, moved real slow back towards shore....only problem with this is going to be you will be bring the bait back from deeper water to shallow water and will have a greater tendency to hang up.
A Carolina rig would also be a good choice. Use as light of weight as you can get away with and get the worm to the bottom.
Good Luck
If you can find a stream that is feeding the back of a cove there is another good spot, due to moving water having more oxygen as well as a supply off food.

Besides lexington and louisville what is there to do close to the wild turkey distillery in lawrencburg ky?

-Pick up a copy of "Kentucky One Tank Trips" by Denny Trease for some great ideas. It is available at Joseph-Beth (see last bullet) or Amazon.com

-Kentucky has wonderful state parks: Cumberland Falls, one of the only 2 places globally you can see a Moonbow; Natural Bridge, great place to hike; Lake Cumberland is nice to house boat on.

-Lexington has two "nature" parks (McConnell Springs Nature Center and Raven Run Nature Sanctuary) as well as the University's Arboretum

-The Kentuck Horse Park (link includes daily activities list) http://www.kyhorsepark.com/sub.php?pageid=36§ionid=2

-Throughout the state...horse farms, distilleries, and Toyota all offer local tours. Call before arriving to find out details.

-Not outdoors, but if you're a reader, you must check out Lexington's Joseph-Beth Booksellers. Huge selection, kids reading program, and a cafe with an outdoor patio overlooking a pond with ducks, geese, and fish. Nice place to take the kids on a spring day. They have a large selection of local interest books.
