Well ... Hamilton Island aint Melbourne !!!

SO... lets answer your actual question :)

At this time of year the weather is great for any beach side location ..

Try looking at places such as Wye River ...it is close to Lorne, lovely beaches, great camping facilities which are right on the beach .. but a little quiter and more low key then larger holiday areas such as Lorne.
(Apollo Bay also a good option in this area!!)

Phillip Island is another good option ... very relaxed, good shopping, swimming, walks and lots to see and do (great wild life - fairy penguins, koala's, kangeroos etc)

Sorrento .. good fun ... more of a hip 'toffs' location then the other options .. but some great beaches and fantastic walks.

Ocean Grove ... great beaches, very relaxed

Hope this helps

Places to have sweet 16th birthday party for a girl?

_

Hey guys!
So I've been having most of my birthday parties in my house with friends and for my sweet 16th, I'd like to do something different and have it elsewhere. Does anyone know any places in Melbourne, Australia where a girl could have her 16th Birthday Party that would make it a nice, memorable day?
A place that is cheap per person would be good. I'm thinking of limiting my guests to 10-15 people.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Website links to some of the party venues that you mention is also appreciated!
Thanks in advance! :)
