best camping site maine image

I'd like to go on a short camping trip with my family where it's okay to bring a 5 year old, a dog, has ATV rentals, and has cabin rentals. I'd like to be out in the wilderness but at a camp site that has the basic amenities. Any specific camp grounds that you know of?
Answer
Vermont or Virginia. I don't know anyplace in either of those states. I do know a place in Maine that meets your needs. http://www.northcountryrivers.com/

What are best camping sites on the east coast?

I live in eastern PA and have been to ricketts glenn, world's end, gettyburg for camping. I take my two kids camping every two years. I am looking for something different this time. I like to go on hikes, boating, rustic type camping where we are out of the way. Not the resort type campsites. We had a great time at Ricketts Glenn two years ago and world's end was nice because of the isolation and rugged hikes. My kids are older now - 12 and 10 and are very good hikers.
What are the best parks that you have been to on the east coast. I am not afraid to drive 12-16 hours. We are staying for 10 days.
We are also into photography. We have some great photos from rickets glenn

I love Maine. Go to Acadia Nat'l park. Get a lobster dinner at the wharf for under $10. They will even let you choose your own lobster, right off the boat! Just go to any coastal village and look for a restaurant. Or, you can rent sea kayaks near Acadia. It's not very expensive. I went sea kayaking in Maine, and had some very cute harbour seals coming within 20 feet of my kayak just because they were curious of me. They are like adorable swimming dogs, and they are harmless. If you go sea kayaking near Acadia, you are pretty much guaranteed to be joined by seals. Kids love seals! There is great hiking at Acadia too, and if you're into shopping, you can go to the LL Bean store in Freeport, ME.
