best camping site dorset image
Beth
I need ideas for holiday locations. Here is a bit about me:
I work as a Vet in Bath. I have three children: 13 year old Maddie, 11 year old Patrick and 8 year old Georgia. We all need a holiday, ideally in a static caravan near the coast. We love Pembrokeshire in Wales and Dorset because they aren't too far from our home near Bath. We've never tried Cornwall because of the holidaymakers and tourists there. Where else in the Uk (preferably South West) has good caravan/ camping sites? Ideally within 3 or 4 hours at a push from Bath. Are dogs allowed on the site as we have a springer spaniel? Thanks

I can vouch for Quay West holiday park in South Wales and the surrounding areas, we had a fab holiday las year on the Haven site and some of the lesser grade caravans allow dogs, if you can't take your dog there I noticed lots of other sites around and about that area.

Searcing for uk campsites in the south-please help?

We are keen campers in the uk and are searching for a site with close proximity to a pub.
A sheltered fairly peaceful site would suit also allowing BBQs or campfires
Also prefer a dog free site if possible
Thanks so much is a definate maybe

Personally I can really recommend a beautiful campsite in Dorset at Hook Farm in the village of Uplyme about 30 mins scenic walk from Lyme Regis. Don't have the number to hand but if you stick these details into the web browser it'll come up.
It is set in the valley with stunning views and there is nice freindly little pub about 5 minutes walk tops from the site! Pub food is really good and they also do a carvery on Sundays. We love it there so much we've camped there a few times and may well be back there this summer. BBQs are allowed but you need to make sure you use put it on the bricks they provide - which is fine. Unfortunately fires aren't allowed but we find our bucket bbq provides a great heat source too!
