We're taking our kids 3 & 6 and would like to get a good night sleep. We'll be staying 2 to 4 nights. Bathroom cleanliness is very important to me. I'm leaning towards Harvey County East Park. I'm also considering Santa Fe Lake and Campground, as well as Boulder Bluff Trail.

I looked at El dorado but it only has 2 stars for cleanliness in Frommer's best Campgrounds. I might reconsider El dorado if we decide to stay in a cabin. So give me any info you could.

If you could also include what did you do for entertainment while visiting this area and what the whole family enjoy the most? I've found some stuff on line but if you've been to these places please give me your opinion.

Kansas Kids Unltd. More than a Museum, Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center, Old Cowtown Museum, Museum of World Treasures, Exploration Place, Kansas Splashdown Indoor Water Park, Salt City Splash Aquatic Center, Clearwater Aquatic Park. Our kids also love go-karts and mini golf if you know of any in the area.

Thanks for your help!

Answer
Check out Lake Afton. The bathrooms should be OK, I've never had any problems with them being dirty. There is the Lake Afton Observatory, which is really cool for the kids. In West Wichita, about 30 minutes away, there is All Star Sports, which has both mini golf and a go kart track.

Derby has a new water park that the kids will love. Exploration place is OK. The Museum of World Treasures is a joke. Old Cowtown is pretty lame, unless your kids like Little House on the Prairie books. Check out a Wichita Wranglers baseball game, especially on fireworks night.

Hope this helps

What permits do I need to camp in a Kansas state park?

Matt and C

Hello!! I have reserved a cabin in Clinton state park in Kansas, but Iâm not sure what permits I need. Iâve read in different places about a Vehicle permit but am unsure if that only applies to things like RVs and campers? Iâve also seen a permit to stay overnight but Iâm unsure if that is only for tent camping or if it also applies to the cabins. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Thank you for the link but it does not specify any of the questions that I asked.
