If you are on private property, you must have the landowner's permission, in writing is very much preferred. If you are on public land, you are required to camp in designated areas.
Let me suggest you go to a state or national wildlife management area to camp. There are generally primitive camp sites as well as improved camp sites. The primitive camps are generally somewhat remote, or at least solitary. The improved sites may have running water, electrical hookups, and or showers and bathrooms.
I've spent many pleasant solitary days camping at a primitive site in Delta National Wildlife Management Area. Sometimes, I'd go three or four days at a time without speaking to another person.

Camping spots in/near Ocean City, Maryland? or Delaware? Close Beach access?
tctc
We are looking for camping spots in/near Ocean City, Maryland or in Delaware that are close to beach access (walking distance). We have camped several times at ASSATEAGUE STATE PARK and we really like how the beach is walking distance to your camping site, but we are interested in trying something different. Any suggestions/experiences? Thanks in advance!
Answer
Delaware Seashore State Park in Delaware has a camping area that is litterally across the highway from the beach. The camping area is just south of the Indian River Inlet. It's about a 5 minute walk from the campsites to the ocean.
You can also walk to the beach from the campsites at Cape Henlopen State Park, but the walk is much further.
