Where is a good place to camp around victoria, bc?

I just moved to Victoria BC and i want to go camping for the long weekend in may with friends. Where is a fun place for 20-25 year people?
Preferably with a beach.

A couple of options - Weir's Beach in Metchosin is a private campground on the JDF Strait. Bamberton Provincial Park in Mill Bay sits alongside Saanich Inlet. Both are close to Victoria.

You cant go camping in or around Melbourne, but there are some really nice places in the country. You would be looking at a bit of a drive from the city if you want somewhere you can set up a tent.

As Fitz said, Cathedral Ranges is quite close and its a nice place to go camping. There are hiking tracks with some really nice views. I went there on a school camp back in the day. It can get quite cold there this time of year though, this is the time I went up. Make sure you have good boots, a good jacket and a good sleeping bag.

Arkansas Camping Spots?

Does anyone know what 'Dispersed Camping,' or 'Boondocking' is? It's where you go out in too the wilderness on off-road trails and set up camp out in the forest or deep wilderness. I live in Oklahoma and havent had any luck finding any places to practice this old-school camping method.

I would love to do this in scenic areas such as Arkansas mountains or someplace closer to NE Oklahoma that offers off road trails, hiking spots, swimming holes, etc. I live VERY close to Tulsa, Ok. I drive a 97' Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 so im well equiped to do this.

I have a 97 Grand Cherokee 4x4. Would love to 'get out there' and go camping with my friends in the wilderness.

what are clothes and things that u tink are a must have for camp. im going for 5 days so how much should i pack since i cant pack more than one suitcase i think.also, i have to have a one-piece bathing suit and cant find one anywhere. anyone know any good affordable places beside target and wal-mart(didnt find any there)?
oh yea..i cant wear shorts shorter than 1 inch above the knee and not many tank-tops because this is a bible camp

bring a hoodie, bug spray, bring a rain jacket or a spring jacket, pack maybe 2 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of shorts, a long sleeve shirt and a couple t-shirts, pair of sneakers good for walking, bring sandles/flipflops..

bathing suits try..macys,jcpenny, hollister, pac-sun, victoria secrets have some for affordable..I dont know what you consider affordable but those are some options..also continue looking when your not all stressed because you probably cant find it because your looking for it..look for it at a random time

Is it safe to visit the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side? If so where should I stay, luxury & standard?

Planning a vacation to South Africa, already visiting Cape Town and the Western Cape. Would love to end the trip at Victoria Falls just need tips on safety and where to stay.

I visited the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwean side just a month ago. It was quite safe provided that you don't go walk abouts on your own and do not openly display your camera, bags etc. Keep your wallet/ cash in a safe place.
Whatever you do, don't walk around after dark. Don't fall for any money changing scams or offers to show you around by strangers. There are quite a few luxury hotels of which I found the best to be The Kingdom. The Elephant Hills is also very nice and has been rebuilt a few years ago after a fire almost destroyed it completely. Good standard accommodation can be found at numerous safari camps around the town, one being Tatenda Safaris which offers sunset booze cruises along the Zambezi River, tours to the local crocodile farm and others. You will be required to produce your passport to view the Falls and if you do not have a Zimbabwean passport you will have to pay your entry fee in US$ so be prepared for that. The hotels also charge for the accommodation in forex. Good luck and I sincerely hope that you will enjoy the trip and be safe.

I want to go Victoria Vancouver Kelowna Abbotsford and places around. Could you tell me what are the best and attractive places to visit?

To go Victoria how much ferry charge if I take my car with? Two or three families will come with me? To explore these cities but We don't have any idea where to go to see beautiful and attractive and never forgettable sites in these areas? :)

Well, lets take this is alphabetical order:

Abbotsford - There are a number of wineries that offer tours and tastings as you are coming to Abbotsford. In the Abbotsford area you can take a self guided farm tour which can be interesting. In Matsqui (a part of Abbotsford) you can find a wave pool.

Chilliwack - I know you did not ask about it but since it is only about 20 minutes beyond Abbotsford I though I would mention it. There are a number activities and places to see in the area from Cultus Lake to farm tours and then, if you want to take a farther drive, cross the Fraser River, head through Agassiz, and stop at Harrison Hot Springs..beautiful views and several campgrounds if you feel like camping. Back in Chilliwack you will find two water-slides, one at Cultus Lake and another farther up the Valley just past the turnoff to Agassiz by Bridle Veil Falls. While you are there stop and take the walk to the falls. You may also want to take time to visit Minter Gardens, located in the same area.

Kelowna - In the Okanagan area of BC, the terrain there is more oriented towards the desert, you will find some if you head about half an hour south. Kelowna has many wineries open to the public and a couple of nice orchard tours during the summer and fall. My sons enjoyed the orchard tour and got hooked on the fresh apple cider...so did I for that matter. Kelowna is at the northern tip of Okanagan lake and although it has become touristy over the past few years it is still worth a visit. Take time to drive down the lake towards Penticton...there are several places to stop along the way.

Vancouver - The largest city in BC, visit Stanley Park and certainly the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the Lynn Canyon area in North Vancouver are worth a visit. There are several museums and art galleries if your interests are in that area as well as a number of theatres (both live and movie). Although Granville Island is touristy, I think it is worth spending some time at, especially during the summer months. There are several beaches in the area and if you feel like a drive, head along the Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler. A beautiful drive and Whistler, for all it's tourism, is still an enjoyable place to visit....make a day of it

Victoria - The Capital of BC and home to the BC Legislature and many museums, art galleries, and parks, both public and private. Take a trip to Butchart Gardens or wander around the Inner Harbour region near the Legislature (take a tour there) and the BC Museum and IMAX theatre. A short drive (or long walk) from there you will find the official residence of BC's Lieutenant Governor, the grounds and gardens are generally open to the public although the residence is not. Last time there I had the pleasure of a tour of the house with excellent guides, the Lieutenant Governor and his wife. The city itself has and "old England" feel to it in many parts and there are many interesting sites within a short walk of the downtown area. Take a "Ghostly Walks" tour in the evening for a glimpse into the past of Victoria and stories about some of the former inhabitants that do not want to seem to leave. There are also many other tours you can take from a gardens tour to whale watching and a variety of activities suited to most tastes.

The ferry to Victoria leaves from Tsawwassen regularly and the current one way costs (without any taxes) are as follows:

Car only, up to 20 feet - $ 43.20
Adult Passengers (12 and older) - $ 12.85
Child (5 to 11) - $ 6.45
Child under 5 - Free

The ferry trip itself, once you reach the gulf islands, can be quite enjoyable from the scenery on the passing islands to boats on the water and a variety of wildlife in the water...I have even seen Killer Whales from the deck of the ferry.
