me and a couple of friends are planning on going camping on wavebreak island for the long weekend.

just wondering if you're allowed to just pitch a tent wherever you like over there?
and is there firewood? thats all i can really think of at the moment! bring on the weekend

The only place in USA where citizens camp wherever they please for free
is in National Forest; open fire isn't allowed and Federal District Offices
can inform you of other rules that are being enforced by paid staff. There
are other Federal, State, County and municipal property posted regarding
public usage. These lands are regulated and supervised. Private property
is just that and either you have use authorization from owner or suffer from
legal consequences. American judicial and penal systems are crowded
with people who never honestly thought they would experience either. You
get one telephone call after arrival at jail; decide now who best to contact.

My Boyfriend and I are planning a camp trip with our 3 large dogs to the Comal or Guadalupe river but every place we come across doesn't allow pets. Does anyone know of a secret place we can take our water loving pets?? We plan on going this coming weekend.

Camping places in england?

I am turning 18 soon and me and 6 other friends wanted to do the pennines way walk, which is 268 miles along the backbone of England (the pennines). We are not doing this anymore as you are not allowed to wild camp or make fires.

I was wondering if there is anywhere in England where you are allowed to do Bear Grylls type things like making fires and setting traps and wild camping, or is it against the law in every place?

What are some good vacation spots for families in the USA?

I am trying to plan our vacation for next summer, and cant think of any place good. We are tired of beaches, and amusement parks. What else is there?

Have you been to any of the national parks...Yellowstone, Yosemite, etc.? Take a camping trip in Wyoming (you can rent a cabin, take a fishing trip, visit Yellowstone, etc.) or in North Dakota.

Are your kids boys? They might like visiting the Football Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and then catching a Cleveland Indians game. And since you'll be on Lake Erie, you can either go fishing out on Put-in-Bay or (even tho you're tired of amusement parks) you could stop at Cedar Point, home some of the best rollercoasters in the country). Or if they prefer baseball, there's the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, followed by a drive to NYC to catch a Mets and/or Yankees game.

How much does a camping stove propane tank cost to refill?

Q. I need to know how much a 16 oz tank costs to refill, i know prices differ but I just need to know what to expect. I'm going to be refilling it at a uHaul place and using it for airsoft.

Here in the USA it's illegal to transport 16oz refilled small propane tanks or anything under 1/2 gallon. The big 1-3 gallon and bigger tanks or ok of course. A new 16oz costs around $2-4 where as filling a big unit they charge by the gallon around the same price $3-5 a gallon. There is an adapter you can get the lets you refill them from a bigger tank but it's just not worth the time or hassle.

I have no idea where you are, but if you were in UK I would suggest going to Sherwood forest, and takling a history book with you. There are information huts there, and the whole place is historical for the Robin Hood legend, you can make your own camp, go hiking, and pretend to be a part of the merry men.

If you are in USA, why not pick a story from history that you like and go to the local place where it is set- without knowing where you are it's a bit hard.
